Celebrate National Poultry Day with a chicken-themed story and craft. Tot Tuesdays!, designed to help prepare preschoolers for reading readiness and socialization, are held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. Admission is free for BCM members. For future members, cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors 60+ and $5 for children. There is a $1 craft fee per child. Free parking. Reserve spots for you and your child at (859) 491-4003.

Civil War Park Day

NaturePlay @BCM will be turned into a mini-encampment with Civil War reenactors portraying Union and Confederate soldiers, a chaplain, civilians and even General Ulysses S. Grant, who will speak at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Visitors will be able to interact with the reenactors and see what daily life was like in a Northern Kentucky military embankment in the mid-1800s. Also included will be a hike to Battery Bates, one of the remaining batteries that protected NKY and Cincinnati from attack from Confederate forces in September 1862, led by BCM archaeologist associate Jeannine Kreinbrink. Reservations are required for the hike; call 859-491-4003. Limited to the first 25 registrants. Hikers should meet in the BCM parking lot at 1:30 p.m.
Brown Bag Luncheon: Balcony is Closed with Bob Webster

Be immersed in the history of Northern Kentucky movie theaters and learn how MGM Studios has a Covington connection. Bob Webster, president of the Kenton County Historical Society and author of numerous books and articles on local history, will discuss many of the movie theaters, now long-forgotten, that once graced the neighborhoods of Covington, Newport and surrounding cities, as well as movies filmed in the area. The lunch and discussion will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the BCM Education Center. Bring your own brown bag lunch. Drinks and desserts will be provided.
